The report lauds India's food consumption pattern as the most sustainable, emphasizing that if all nations were to adopt India's approach by 2050, it would significantly mitigate the climate impact of food production on our planet. An encouraging stance that sets India apart from the likes of Argentina, Australia, and the USA, who rank poorly in this regard.

 

The report's projections paint a vivid picture: should global food consumption mirror that of current major economies by 2050, we would surpass the 1.5°C climate warming limit for food-related greenhouse gas emissions by a staggering 263%, necessitating the resources of one to seven Earths to sustain our needs. However, by embracing India's food consumption model, the world could feasibly thrive within a "less than one Earth" scenario, indicating a sustainable path forward for food production globally. India's commitment to a millet mission stands out in the report, showcasing a dedicated effort towards sustainable agriculture practices.
