The prestigious Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called was conferred upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi in recognition of his remarkable efforts in nurturing the privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia, as well as his unwavering commitment to strengthening the friendly ties between the two nations, which have stood the test of time.

In a heartwarming gesture, the strong and enduring friendship between India and Russia has been further cemented with the bestowal of Russia's highest civilian honor, the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called, upon Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This prestigious award, established in 1698 by Tsar Peter the Great, recognizes Modi's distinguished contribution to the development of the privileged strategic partnership between the two nations.

The ceremony, held in the Kremlin's St. Andrew Hall, was a testament to the deep mutual respect and trust that characterize the India-Russia relationship. Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his remarks, warmly congratulated Prime Minister Modi, stating, "Dear friend, from the bottom of my heart, I would like to congratulate you for this highest Russian award and wish you good health, success and all the best. To the friendly people of India, I wish peace and prosperity."

Prime Minister Modi, in his gracious acceptance speech, dedicated the award to the 1.4 billion people of India, acknowledging that it is a testament to the "centuries-old deep friendship and mutual trust" between the two nations. He also highlighted the significant strides made in the "special and privileged strategic partnership" under President Putin's leadership, noting that the foundation laid by the Russian leader has only grown stronger over time.

This prestigious accolade is a reflection of the unwavering commitment both countries have demonstrated towards fostering closer ties and collaborating on global and regional issues. As Prime Minister Modi stated, "Our cooperation, based on people-to-partnership, is becoming the hope and guarantee of a better future for our people."

The Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called, bestowed upon Prime Minister Modi, showcases India's growing prominence on the global stage and the profound respect it commands from its long-standing partner, Russia. This moment of celebration underscores the deeper narrative of India's ascent and the strengthening of its time-honored bonds with Russia, a relationship that continues to be a source of stability and prosperity for both nations.
