Most people think Prime Minister Narendra Modi has handled the Covid-19 pandemic well, his approval ratings remain high, and if elections were to be held today, his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would win again, according to the January 2021 edition of the Mood of The Nation (MOTN) survey conducted by India Today Group and Karvy Insights.
The bi-annual survey was conducted in 97 parliamentary and 194 assembly constituencies across 19 states. A total of 12,232 interviews were conducted between January 3 and January 13 to gauge the nation's mood.
The MOTN survey has found that 73 per cent Indians are satisfied with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's handling of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. Twenty-three per cent of respondents said it was outstanding, while 50 per cent found it good.
The survey shows PM Modi's approval ratings at 74 per cent (outstanding 30 per cent, good 44 per cent), only a marginal dip from the 78 per cent he enjoyed in the August 2020 edition of the Mood of The Nation poll. Sixty-six per cent of people are satisfied with the NDA government's performance, as per the latest survey.
