Backed by Automattic, Titan offers innovative tools like AI-assisted email composition and campaign management. A groundbreaking partnership between email startup Titan and web hosting leader GoDaddy is set to transform the professional email market, particularly for small businesses in developing regions. This collaboration aims to challenge industry giants Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 in the highly competitive $60 billion global business email sector.

Under this agreement, Titan’s advanced AI-powered email platform will integrate with GoDaddy’s Professional Email service, granting millions of small businesses access to cutting-edge tools designed to enhance communication and streamline operations. Titan, which achieved profitability earlier this year, has seen its customer base double to 2.3 million mailboxes in just two years.

Carving a Niche Beyond Tech Giants

Bhavin Turakhia, founder and CEO of Titan, highlighted the company’s focus on small businesses, a market segment often overlooked by major players like Google and Microsoft. “We’re addressing a niche that their products don’t serve—new and growing small businesses,” Turakhia explained.

GoDaddy’s vast distribution network, responsible for registering 22% of all new domains globally, positions the partnership to make Titan the default email provider for over 40% of new businesses worldwide. Turakhia added, “This collaboration is a pivotal step in making professional email tools accessible to businesses of all sizes, empowering entrepreneurs to enhance customer engagement and drive growth.”

Backed by Industry Leaders

Titan’s rapid rise is supported by notable backing from Automattic, the parent company of WordPress, which invested $30 million in 2021 at a $300 million valuation. This financial stability has allowed Titan to focus on innovation, offering small businesses tools like AI-assisted email composition, tracking, appointment scheduling, and campaign management.

“Small businesses are the backbone of the global economy,” Turakhia emphasized. “They deserve the same powerful tools that large enterprises use to thrive. Our partnership with GoDaddy democratizes access to these capabilities, empowering millions of businesses to improve communication and marketing efforts.”

Oliver Hoare, GoDaddy’s vice president of strategic partnerships, echoed this sentiment, noting the increasing need for intelligent tools that help small businesses connect with customers and achieve growth. The new service is set to roll out in developing markets starting August 12.

A Vision for the Future

Titan’s platform prioritizes security, reliability, and user-centric features. According to Turakhia, AI capabilities allow users to draft, refine, and respond to emails efficiently, while also gaining valuable feedback. This approach aligns with the company’s mission to help small businesses enhance customer engagement, foster brand growth, and optimize their daily operations.

Ninad Raval, Titan’s vice president of product and design, described the company’s strategy as a “Maslow’s hierarchy of needs” for small businesses. This includes prioritizing growth and customer acquisition over collaboration tools, which are more aligned with enterprise needs.

Looking ahead, Titan aims to expand to 10 million mailboxes within the next two to three years, targeting $40 million in annual recurring revenue from current and future contracts. Despite its financial success and cash-flow positivity, the company remains open to strategic partnerships to further its mission.

The partnership between Titan and GoDaddy signifies a major shift in the professional email landscape, offering small businesses the tools they need to compete in the digital age. With its innovative platform and GoDaddy’s global reach, Titan is poised to not only challenge industry giants but also redefine how small businesses communicate and grow.
