Ola to set up the world’s largest EV hub in Tamil Nadu

Ola announced that it will be setting up the world's largest EV hub with integrated 2W, Car, and lithium-cell Gigafactories in Tamil Nadu.

Bhavish Agarwal, CEO of Ola, tweeted that Ola has signed an MoU with Tamil Nadu today. He thanked the CM of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, for the support and partnership of the TN government.

Previously, it was reported that Ola is set to buy 1500 acres of land in the state to set up an electric vehicle factory.

In addition to increasing the number of scooter types, Ola CEO Agarwal also intends to offer motorbikes, which might happen within the next year or so. Ola introduced its first scooter last year.

According to recent reports, the manufacturer of electric vehicles also intends to launch its own EV taxi service in Bengaluru.

The business eventually intends to increase the number of EV taxis in the city to over 10,000 in a single year.

The founder of Ola, Bhavish Aggarwal, has asserted that the ride-hailing industry is "very profitable" and "a mature business" in spite of frequent client complaints about falling service quality.
