Jain Community's Collective Buying Power Secures Discounts Worth ₹21 Crore on 186 Luxury Cars

The Jain community, led by the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), leveraged its collective buying power to secure ₹21 crore in discounts on 186 luxury cars from brands like BMW, Audi, and Mercedes. The initiative, benefiting members nationwide, saved individuals up to ₹17 lakh each. Inspired by this success, JITO launched the "Utsav" program to negotiate similar discounts in jewelry, electronics, and more, showcasing the power of collaboration and strategic negotiation.
The Jain community has once again demonstrated the strength of collective action, securing massive savings on high-end luxury cars. Through a unique initiative driven by the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), members of the community purchased 186 luxury vehicles, collectively saving ₹21 crore in the process.
This extraordinary endeavor, described as a "one-of-its-kind deal," involved partnerships with prestigious automobile brands such as BMW, Audi, and Mercedes. Himanshu Shah, Vice President of JITO, shared these insights while speaking with PTI, emphasizing the organization's role as a facilitator rather than a profit-seeking entity.
A Nationwide Initiative with Remarkable Impact
JITO, a non-profit organization representing over 65,000 members across India, spearheaded this initiative between January and June of this year. The cars, each valued between ₹60 lakh and ₹1.3 crore, were distributed to buyers across the country, with Gujarat-based members accounting for the majority of purchases.
Explaining the origins of the initiative, Nitin Jain, a key figure behind the project, revealed that the idea came from JITO members who recognized the community's immense purchasing power. "We wanted to leverage this strength to negotiate directly with leading brands for significant discounts," he explained. The result was a win-win scenario: buyers enjoyed reduced prices while manufacturers benefited by cutting marketing costs.
How the Deal Unfolded
Initially, a handful of JITO members purchased luxury cars under the negotiated terms. As word spread about the substantial discounts, more members joined in. Ultimately, the initiative saw 186 cars being purchased, with individual savings ranging from ₹8 lakh to ₹17 lakh. "The amount saved was often enough to buy another car for a family member," Nitin Jain humorously remarked.
Expanding Horizons: JITO's Next Move
Buoyed by the success of the luxury car initiative, JITO has now launched a new program called "Utsav." This ambitious project aims to extend similar bulk-buying benefits to other industries, including jewelry, consumer durables, and electronics.
This initiative reflects the Jain community's commitment to utilizing its collective strength for mutual benefit, setting a remarkable example of how collaboration can lead to significant economic advantages.
