It’s a proud moment for India as Hyderabad has bagged the prestigious 'World Green City Award 2022'. The south Indian beauty has won the award by beating famous international cities Paris, Bogota, Mexico City, Montreal and Fortaleza in Brazil.
The city has won in the category Living Green for Economic Recovery and Inclusive Growth at the International Association of Horticulture Producers (AIPH) 2022 World Green Cities Awards which was organised in Jeju, South Korea on Friday, October 14.
For those who don’t know, Hyderabad was the only city from India that was selected and now that it has won the award, it is a matter of pride for Telangana and India. The city that not only won the category award but the overall World Green Cities 2022 award.
KT Rama Rao, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development took to Twitter and shared the happy news. He also congratulated Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority team and Special Chief Secretary, MA&UD Arvind Kumar for the achievement.
